FALLS BASEBALL
Code of Conduct for Managers and Coaches
As a Manager/Coach for Falls Baseball, I agree to:
- Learn, Know and Follow all Rules. I will conduct myself in accordance with these rules. I will take
responsibility in understanding all rules prior to the beginning of the season. I will learn, know and follow
all playoff rules as they may change from the season rules.
-Respect all players. I will ensure that all criticism I offer to my players will be constructive. I will treat
them fairly and equitably within the rules. I will never resort to physical or verbal threats toward my
players. I will refrain from using inappropriate language at or around my team. I will do my best to teach
my players the game of baseball/softball to the best of my abilities. Most of all, I will do everything I can to
ensure that everyone on my team is safe and has fun.
-Respect all parents. I will work to keep my team parents informed about all team and league activities. I
will schedule a parent meeting at the start of the season to discuss my expectations of the players and the
parents of my team.
- Respect all umpires. I will not berate or abuse an umpire. I understand the manager is the only one that
can question calls and he/she is the only coach who may enter the field with permission from the umpire.
If I get ejected from a game I will leave the field within two minutes of the time of ejection. I understand
that I will be suspended for the following game. All ejections/suspensions are reviewable by the League
executive board for further disciplinary action.
-Follow proper channels to resolve any disputes. I understand I have a strong organization to assist me
in the resolution of problems, issues or disputes. If problems arise, I will discuss them with my managers
or coaches, the player(s), the parents, and the League executive board if needed.
- NO Smoking. I will remember that LCLL and FHAA are nonsmoking facilities. This includes vaping.
-Display good sportsmanship at all times. I will strive to set an example in all personal contact and show
respect to my team and the opposing team; manager, coaches, players, parents, umpires, fans and
LCLL/FHAA boards. I will be supportive when good plays are made by either team. I will shake all coaches
and opposing team hands at the conclusion of every game. I WILL RESPECTFULLY TAKE CARE OF THE
FIELDS, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT THAT WE USE.
-Drafts. I will not seek to manipulate signups, drafts, tryouts or league rules to achieve an unfair advantage
for mine, or any other team.
- Assistant Coaches. I will have a MAXIMUM of 4 coaches in my dugout, including myself. NO exceptions.
- Be a positive contributor to LCLL/FHAA. Take pride in making LCLL/FHAA top quality youth
organizations. Be a positive and caring influence and an encouraging force in teaching the lessons of play
and sportsmanship through the game of baseball/softball.
-Background Checks. Will be produced to a league official prior to the start of the season.
Any manager or coach found to have engaged in prohibited conduct will be subject to disciplinary action
up to and including immediate dismissal. All disciplinary action will be reviewed by the LCLL/FHAA board.
